Pier 39 located at Beach Street & The Embarcadero, San Francisco, california, usa

Pier 39 is a popular tourist waterfront venue built on a pier filled with various interesting attractions such as sea lions, waterfront dining, street performers, live music and shopping. This place is known for its spectacular views of Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Bay Bridge and also sea lions. The sea lions are the celebrities of this pier and are known for their intelligence, playfulness and noisy barking. You might want to see the Sea Lion Web Cam before making a trip down to K-Dock to see the sea lions. Their numbers rise and fall with the seasons and it is not uncommon to see few or no sea lions in the summer. If you plan to visit the pier, you should try the clam chowder in the sour dough bowl.
